Black Portal is my exploration of this liminal quality: a stark black geometric form set against a luminous white background, creating a sense of depth, possibility, and quiet invitation.
This is minimalism with meaning.
In my transition from the intensity of cardiovascular surgery to the contemplative practice of creating art, I became fascinated by thresholds—the moments between heartbeats, the space between diagnosis and healing, the passage from one way of being to another. Black Portal embodies that fascination: a visual meditation on crossing over, on stepping through, on the courage required to enter unknown spaces.
